Horse Racing Tips: Progressive Khanjar fancied to claim Newmarket win
There's a bumper day's racing across the UK & Ireland with seven fixtures taking place and the main attraction comes from Newmarket, as they host day one of their July Festival with the likes of the Bahrain Trophy, July Stakes and Princess Of Wales's Stakes looking competitive events. We preview all the action here, and pick out some of the best bets from a host of racing writers for Thursday's racing...

An impressive victory at Ripon last time out saw Khanjar rocket up the ratings and the William Haggas-trained gelding will look to make it three wins on the bounce on Thursday when he lines up in the 15:00 at Newmarket. In, arguably, the most competitive race on the card, Khanjar has proven extremely popular with our tipsters as four of them - including the likes of Garry Owen from the Daily Record and Whistler from the Sunday Telegraph - have tipped up the Haggas charge.
The 15:00 event has caught the eye of plenty of tipsters with a number of horses being napped for the 6f event with Jason Heavey from The Star opting for 15/2 chance Le Beau Garcon, while Paul Kealy from The Weekender has napped the 20/1 outsider Admiral D, with Ben Morgan from Racing Ahead tipping up Ingra Tor.
There's an eight-race Listed event taking place at 16:10 at Newmarket and the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Mighty Ulysses is a red-hot 5/4 favourite for the contest, and the Freemason Lodge inmate has caught the eye of four tipsters - including RP Ratings and Templegate from The Sun, who are backing the jolly to prevail.
The July Stakes is a fascinating two-year-old event at 14:25 and the Aidan O'Brien-trained Royal Ascot winner Little Big Bear is a major player and is tipped up by the second placed tipster Melissa Jones from the Mirror Online, while the Freddie & Martyn Meade-trained Zechariah is a 3/1 chance for the Bahrain Trophy at 13:50 at Newmarket and that charge has been napped by three tipsters.

Expert Eye is topping the naps table and has opted to veer away from Newmarket's competitive card and heads to Doncaster for the best bet of the day. The tipster, who has a profit of a stunning £50.55 and is bidding for a third winning nap on the bounce is backing Fresh Hope to win the 15:45 at Doncaster. The Charlie Fellowes-trained three-year-old is a hugely progressive filly, who was last seen finishing sixth in the Sandringham Stakes at Royal Ascot, and she's a 13/8 chance to get her head in front in this event on Town Moor.
Andrew Bladen from the Wolverhampton Express & Star is one of two tipsters that have recorded three winning naps on the bounce and he is backing the 12/1 chance Kingmax to win the 16:10 at Newmarket, while Jeffrey Ross from the Western Morning News, who has also bagged a hat-trick of winners has put up 11/4 chance Desperate Hero as his nap in the 18:08 at Newbury.
The biggest priced nap of the day comes in the Bahrain Trophy at 13:50 at Newmarket and Marlborough of the Daily Telegraph, who sits third in the table, is siding with the 50/1 outsider Green Team, who is looking to cause an almighty shock for the team of Owen Burrows and Tom Marquand.
