ITV Racing Tips At Haydock Park: Our best Saturday bets including a Peter Marsh tip

With Ascot forced to abandon their Clarence House Chase card on Saturday, Haydock Park will be hoping to beat the cold weather and get their mouth-watering fixture on tomorrow. We take a look at some of the key races and pick out a tip for each ITV contest, which includes an eye-catching selection in the Peter Marsh Handicap Chase...
13:30 Haydock - Sky Bet Supreme Trial Rossington Main Novices' Hurdle
Won 12 months ago by Supreme Novices' Hurdle runner-up Jonbon, this year's Grade 1 Rossington Main Novices' Hurdle may not have a horse of that calibre in it, but some smart, improving performers line up and the Dan Skelton-trained Pembroke is a clear favourite for the race and has notched up impressive wins at Wetherby and Ludlow.
However, this is a notable step up in grade and the one that could end his winning run is the Paul Nicholls-trained TOOTHLESS, who is around the 9/2 mark, at the time of writing. A French recruit who had some OK form on his CV before venturing to Ditcheat, but he made an impression when easing to a facile victory at Fakenham and he could be capable of a lot more this season over hurdles. Available at 66/1 for the Supreme Novices' Hurdle, the five-year-old son of Authorized will need to come on from that easy win on his British debut, but he could be capable of downing Pembroke in this and offers much better value.

14:05 Haydock - New One Unibet Hurdle
Former Champion Hurdle heroine Epatante has been unable to live with stablemate Constitution Hill recently, but the star mare will not have to face that rival on Saturday in the Grade 2 New One Unibet Hurdle, and she is a red-hot odds-on favourite to land glory in this Champion Hurdle Trial.
There's no doubting she is the proven class of the race at the highest level, and this race will determine whether Nicky Henderson sends her for another crack at the Champion Hurdle or she heads to the Mares' Hurdle, but she warrants very little value.
The Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained I LIKE TO MOVE IT landed no sort of blow over two-and-a-half miles in the Relkeel Hurdle at Cheltenham at New Year's Day, but he showed when carrying top weight to victory in the Greatwood Hurdle at Cheltenham that he can be a force over two miles. Dropping back to the minimum distance on Saturday is sure to see him in a better light and if he can emulate that Greatwood run then he could give Epatante a few things to think about.

14:40 Haydock - Peter Marsh Handicap Chase
A winner of this race as a six-year-old, Bristol De Mai has a stunning record at Haydock having won three Betfair Chases as well, and the 12-year-old is back for another crack at this year's event and he will have the burden of top weight. A proven top class staying chaser that has competed in the Cheltenham Gold Cup in his pomp, the Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained star is entitled to be well fancied and the heavy conditions should see him flourish.
Fontaine Collonges and Empire Steel are two progressive staying chasers that feature prominently in the betting, but it's COOPER'S CROSS, who is out of the handicap, that could spring a shock here as he continues to blossom over fences. He was last seen staying on eye-catchingly at Musselburgh when finishing second on New Year's Day, so the step up beyond three miles for this event could see him flourish.
He's certainly stepping into much choppier waters here and he will need a huge career best if he is to land the prize, but he's going the right way and has to be respected in an intriguing contest.
