Today's Racing Tips: Stunning Beauty of a bet at Goodwood

Wednesday’s 4/1 winner was followed up with another winning NAP yesterday. Katherine Place (advised at 11/4) was given as a 2 point bet (my maximum stake) and won easily having been very well backed throughout the day.
There are two selections for today and both are also given as 2 point win bets, which is extremely rare indeed. In fact, it is that rare that I’ve never put up two 2 point bets on the same day before!
Goodwood Tip
18:53 – 1m Gusbourne Fillies’ Handicap (Class 3)
One of the biggest disappointments of Royal Ascot week was the farcical scene at the start of the Kensington Palace Stakes when a blindfold wasn’t removed in time resulting in the very well-fancied STUNNING BEAUTY (NAP – 2 point win bet at 2/1) losing her chance before the race had started. She was then forced to miss her next intended engagement when Hamilton’s meeting was abandoned due to an accident, and she finished a respectable third in Class 2 company last time out
This lightly-raced four-year-old took her record to three wins from just five starts when successful at Doncaster in June. Her two defeats prior to that came at Meydan, including in a Group 2 contest, and the Godolphin team will be hoping she can build on the promise shown when winning her first two races by a combined distance of over 11-lengths, including an impressive four-length success at Newmarket. Saeed Bin Suroor’s daughter of Shamardal now drops down in grade and can dominate in this small field off what still looks an attractive handicap mark of 96.

Hamilton Tip
19:10 –1m4f Phoenix Utilities Ltd Handicap (Class 6)
This looks a really good opportunity for MILLIE THE MINX (2 point win bet at 10/3) to continue her fine recent form and register another victory. This admirable dual-purpose performer was an easy winner over hurdles at Cartmel last time out (her fifth win in that sphere) and now switches back to the flat. Seven of her last eight starts on the flat have come at Hamilton, resulting in two wins and three placed efforts. Runner up twice here in May-June, she can go one better today with conditions to suit. This is not a strong contest and she should be able to get the better of her eight rivals given her excellent course record and solid recent form. The biggest danger is De Mazzaro.
