Where can I get my racing fix on Wednesday?

With the racing in the UK and surrounding regions cancelled due to the outbreak of coronavirus, we've taken a look at the meetings are still going ahead around the world...

Happy Valley

The racing has continued in Hong Kong behind closed doors during the coronavirus outbreak, and there will be a valuable eight race card at Happy Valley on Wednesday morning, with the first race due off at 11.15am UK time. You can watch all eight races on Sky Sports Racing, and the meeting will be the last one before the weekend's Hong Kong Derby, a hugely valuable race over 10 furlongs - which offers around £2 million in prize money.

Today's card is an interesting one, and there are several interesting types to look out for, including Ares in the fifth race on the card (13:15). The three-year-old has the assistance of Australian jockey Zac Purton this afternoon - who won the 2012 King's Stand Stakes on Little Bridge - and justified strong market support when getting off the mark at the second time of asking over course and distance last month. He's one to note under a 6 lb rise, as is another of Purton's rides, Little Bird, who takes his chance in the third race on the card (12:15). It's over a year since he last tasted success, but he's back down to his last winning mark and the market support for him this morning is encouraging. Finally, Amazing Star (14:50) failed in his bid to land a four-timer here last time out, though plenty went wrong for him that day, and his current mark may not be beyond him.

Greyville

Like in Hong Kong, the action also continues in South Africa, and Greyville hosts an eight race card which gets underway at 10.50am. You can watch all of the action on Sky Sports Racing, and it's a tricky-looking card as far as punters are concerned, however, one who catches the eye is Railtrip (12:35). The four-year-old is on a seven-race losing run, though she shaped well when second over slightly further here two starts ago, and could be able to take advantage of a 2 lb ease in the weights here. Meanwhile, Keep On Dancing (14:25) is a warm order in the betting for the seventh race on the card after getting off the mark last time out, though her mark looks a steep one now switched into handicap company, and it could be worth taking her on with the consistent Popova. It's coming up to a year since she last tasted success, but she's been holding her form reasonably well and arrives here on a career low mark.

Rest of the World

There is still some action in the United States this evening, with Tampa Bay Downs, Mahoning Valley, Gulfstream, Charlestown and Sam Houston Race Park all hosting fixtures. Meanwhile, Valparaiso also hosts a 16-race card in Chile, which gets underway at 16:40.
