Monday's Most Popular Naps
Six experts are banking on a Kerry Lee runner at Hereford, her local track, to start their week off in perfect fashion - with a winner. The horse will be ridden by stable jockey Richard Patrick and is BLACK HAWK EAGLE, a former Noel Meade charge who has found a new lease of life since the switch to Lee's yard. He won at the second time of asking for this team very well last time out, with the six year old beating comfortably a horse in Georgi Girl who went on to win next time. Black Hawk Eagle has been whacked with five pounds for that success but with the subsequent form of the second that looks lenient and it is clear to see why he has been so well supported in the Naps Table.
Next up is a runner on the AW at Wolverhampton in the 19:30 contest, INEXPLICABLE for trainer Anthony Brittain. The seven year old has won over this course and distance seven times in his career and looks in fantastic form off the back of a second at Southwell last time out. He is now back in handicap company here at his favourite course and looks well weighted to make it eight Wolverhampton wins. Finally, there is another horse who has gained three votes in the Naps Table and that is HENRY'S FRIEND in the 15:30 at Hereford. Ben Pauling's charge is one of the strongest market movers of the day already and despite a 3lb rise for an all out win last time out at Newbury, he is still unexposed over fences and certainly looks one of the best chances of glory in this race.
Follow The Leaders
BLACK HAWK EAGLE is both the most popular Nap of the day and the Nap of the runaway leaders Spotlight from the Racing Post. After notching seven from eight winners, the team have now gone three days in a row without a winning Nap but Black Hawk Eagle looks to be a cracking selection to get them back on the winning thread.
The Punt no longer sits in second, with that silver medal being on West Country. They are showing a profit of £11 to level stakes, £11 behind the leaders Spotlight but still clear of third. The pick for West Country is DON'T TELL SU in the 14:00 at Hereford, The Nicholls runner looked smart in bumpers and finished an encouraging second at Chepstow on hurdles bow, indicating he was one to follow next time out. However, he completely failed to fire at Exeter and finished miles off the leaders. Connections offered no excuse for that run which is puzzling, but he is hiked up in trip here which could bring out further improvement. Harry Cobden is in the plate after another good weekend and the market should be indicative.
Finally, The Punt sitting in third have gone for RAY'S THE ONE in the 16:20 at Plumpton. At a huge 16/1 The Punt could in fact take top spot in the leaderboard if the pricings stay the same and the horse could well be a bit of each-way value here. He was outclassed at Ascot over hurdles last time out but this is an easier assignment for the horse, who will be ridden by James Best. He has won similar events at Fontwell in the past and could be one of the best double figure priced chances of the day.
How D'ya Like Stat?
Lucinda Russell sends a couple of horses to Hereford today, meaning the team will engage in a huge 692 round trip for the pair! Check out the two runners and their latest prices in our dedicated stat zone...

Racing News Round-Up
- Clarence House Packed With Drama - JONBON looked all set to dot up in the Clarence House on Saturday at Cheltenham, before making a shuddering mistake mid-race which would've cost most horses all chance. The Seven Barrows star managed to re-settle and get back into the race, but was still out battled up the hill by ELIXIR DE NUTZ in a big shock. The race saw Freddie Gingell and Joe Tizzard bag their first Grade One honours!
- Scintillating Sir Gino - Cheltenham Trials Day kicked off with a bang as the favourite and second favourite for the Triumph Hurdle Burdett Road and SIR GINO clashed. The race proved to be a no-contest as Sir Gino pulverised his rivals to record a bloodless success. He is now odds on in places for the Triumph and it'll take a mighty juvenile to stop him come March.
- Lossiemouth leaves Mullins Purring - Ashroe Diamond ran a belting race at Doncaster and is worthy of a shot at the Mares' Hurdle, but if stablemate LOSSIEMOUTH turns up in the same form as she showed at Cheltenham on Saturday it may well be an open and shut case. The 2023 Triumph heroine cruised to International Hurdle glory in a Champion Hurdle worthy performance and she is now odds-on everywhere for Mares' glory on Tuesday at the Festival.
